CHARLIE (my) baby

Charlie, 3 years old

One of the many pictures taken with my new (another baby) ((Canon EOS 350d)) when I first got it. My husband has asked me why I bought it. I answered because I am fed-up with my other Point and Shoot ((Sony Cybershot)) Frankly I have no idea about lots of this dslr’s features, but one thing is for sure…I must really like it because I’m reading its manual (I hate reading manuals!!)

This is the start of my blog’s ‘reformation’ . Not that I will only post pictures from now on {or rather when I have pictures to post} but I’ve decided to make this a combination of personal and photoblog.

New motto: when words get in the way, say it with pictures

photoblog?

I am seriously considering converting this personal blog into a photoblog…..I got a new old model Canon Dslr baby to play with * yeah baby! * …since coming up with words to post these past months has been difficult, why not just say it with pictures?

what do you think?

I love to sing. I sing when I’m happy as well as I sing when I’m emotionally disturbed down, yes even when sad…sometimes singing in front of the mirror with matching tears flowing freely down my face w/ fine wrinkles now, yay! Especially when I need to cry, yes I NEED to cry when the ‘time of the month’ is approaching, I sing more. By more I mean 2-4 times a month. Too little one might say. When I left my filipino band back in ‘99, I told my self that I don’t want to sing anymore. That went on for 4 years when I decided to join a dutch band with live musicians players as accompaniment. But even that didn’t last long. I quit after a year later, then never really sang again.

Until few months ago when a friend invited me to join a karaoke online group. Since there’s a choice between publishing your saved song for public nonpleasure or keeping it for your ears only, I said ‘why not’ . So I tried, I sung and I sung. And I got hooked. My husband couldn’t shut me up. I even took out from my hidden-for-good-box (or so I thought) my 2 professional microphones, my 8-channel mixer just to enhance even a bit my squeecky voice and keep me sounding like a trapped mouse during recording (not that the pro mics and mixer helped bhuhuhu! ….I couldn’t figure out the softwares that came along with the sound card so I shifted using my laptop mic which isn’t advisable really ) I stopped singing again because I was not really satisfied with my mic , probably because of my years in singing, I got used to quality mics and sound (not my voice, I will never ever be satisfied with my voice) I still have my karaoke online account just in case I decide to pollute the neighborhood’s calm and serene surroundings once again. For now, I am contented just listening to ‘em fantastic singers.

To those of you who might think that online karaoke is tacky or corny (which was my sentiment in the past) watch this girl, I so love her voice! ‘Wish I could sing like her *sigh*
