Cube appartment, would you live in it?

Kubuswoning or Cube houses (apartments) must be one of the most photographed building in Rotterdam. Though I see this few times a month, every weekend when we visit Rotterdam, I can’t help but each of those times be fascinated by the construction of these cubes. I always love to walk underneath the cubes and imagine how it is living inside it. One cube was turned into a ‘museum’ which is open to the public, for a small fee of 2Euro you get the ‘feel’ of being in a cube, walls angled, floor slanting..things like that.. But I never went inside (no I’m not that cheap *lol* ) because I just don’t want the ‘mystery’ to vanish once I learn how it was standing inside of it.

But maybe someday I will enter a cube and photograph the inside.

How about you, can you imagine living in one of those?

"Don't be afraid!"

“Don’t be afraid to TAKE A BATH!”

I sometimes want to scream at people I meet on the streets or in the supermarket. Why?

Because they stink!!

I can totally understand when it comes to the elders that aren’t ‘flexible’ anymore, bathing can be difficult. But for Pete’s sake, sometimes the elders smell better than the younger ones! Do they think that nobody can smell them just because it’s winter and the air is cold? I really really hate it when I’m standing by the cashier sandwiched by people who loathe bathing.

I think it isn’t just about hygiene that is neglected here, but respect for others as well.

Charice Pempengco, Amazing child!

I can’t help but be amazed at this 14-year old Filipina, Charize Pampengco…she’s got this unbelievable voice. Such volume for a child! I only can laugh at the reaction of the Koreans watching her performing during a television contest. Makes me oh sooo proud of being a Filipina!

I have showed this video to some of my ducth friends and they all had the same reaction: “This isn’t true, that video was doctored because no child can ever sound like that!” *LMAO!* That’s Filipino talent to you, folks!
*note: thanks Jeff for lending my this video! By the way, this song was originally sung by Jennifer Holiday:

And I am telling you
I’m not going.
You’re the best man I’ll ever know.
There’s no way I can ever go,
No, no, no, no way,
No, no, no, no way I’m livin’ without you.
I’m not livin’ without you.
I don’t want to be free.
I’m stayin’,
I’m stayin’,
And you, and you, you’re gonna love me.
Ooh, you’re gonna love me.

And I am telling you
I’m not going,
Even though the rough times are showing.
There’s just no way,
There’s no way.
We’re part of the same place.
We’re part of the same time.
We both share the same blood.
We both have the same mind.
And time and time we have so much to share,

No, no, no,
No, no, no,
I’m not wakin’ up tomorrow mornin’
And findin’ that there’s nobody there.
Darling, there’s no way,
No, no, no, no way I’m livin’ without you.
I’m not livin’ without you.
You see, there’s just no way,
There’s no way.

Tear down the mountains,
Yell, scream and shout.
You can say what you want,
I’m not walkin’ out.
Stop all the rivers,
Push, strike, and kill.
I’m not gonna leave you,
There’s no way I will.

And I am telling you
I’m not going.
You’re the best man I’ll ever know.
There’s no way I can ever, ever go,
No, no, no, no way,
No, no, no, no way I’m livin’ without you.
Oh, I’m not livin’ without you,
I’m not livin’ without you.
I don’t wanna be free.
I’m stayin’,
I’m stayin’,
And you, and you,
You’re gonna love me.
Oh, hey, you’re gonna love me,
Yes, ah, ooh, ooh, love me,
Ooh, ooh, ooh, love me,
Love me,
Love me,
Love me,
Love me.
You’re gonna love me.

"Time is Gold" | Weekend Snapshot # 7

It was in 2005 when I attended an EB of bloggers living in Europe. The EB was held in Germany.

My husband was even invited (even my doggy) and there Cherry provided us accommodation for two days since it was also her first born’s birthday thus making it a dual celebration. There were 8 bloggers who attended that weekend of fun and just like how we Filipinos are toward new friends, we brought with us gifts to give each other.

From one nice lady, Jing, this is what she gave me. A cute golden kettle with clock.

Wonderful World (covered by Michael Buble)

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They’re really saying I love you.

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than I’ll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Have a Wonderful Weekend, Everyone!

I long for the beach

Blue Crab

I found him while walking along the beach in HuaHin, Thailand. We were in Thailand last October for a total of 2 weeks, which 10 days were spent in HuaHin.

HuaHin is located 193 kilometers from Bangkok, to the south. Where I have worked and lived for few years in 90’s.

Though there are the most popular tourists destination in Thailand such as Phuket, Koh Samui, Pattaya, or ChangMai, HuaHin has been , always been, the favorite vacation destination of my husband and I. It isn’t as busy (packed with tourists) as the other popular cities, which is why we love to come back there each chance that we get.

I have grown attached to the beach in HuaHin where hundreds of afternoon were spent enjoying the water, the scenery, catching crabs ( yes, my favorite past time!) and gathering mussels from the big rocks, which later on we’d cook. Ah nothing beats fresh seafoods.

If you haven’t been to this part of Thailand, check it out next time…you might like it too!

Cows can climb!

Is this proof enough? *wink*

I always love seeing arts displayed in public to admire. I applaud those artists for coming up with idea as such! Of course I must admit that I admire them most for being able to sell (ideas) to any city …I heard most of them are paid big time.

How I wish I have such talent to come up with any ideas for public display…it aint bad to earn a living!
