the world from behind her camera
Carnival Queen and more!
Yearly, a summer carnival is held in Rotterdam where thousands of people occupy the streets to catch a glimpse of the year’s chosen queen.
This was she. Poseidon’s (see Oct. 31st entry) daughter.

It was also my opportunity to use my (then) newly purchased 3rd party lens, a tamron 70mm-300mm. I really was a Point & Shoot hobbyist, but since I bought the Canon 350D, I enjoy this hobby more.

I have also captured some of carnival participants such as him…a lovely fairy who kept on swirling and swirling , gracefully I must add

this lady gave a lovely pose

and I think she has a lovely smile

there were also kids participants that day…but due to long parade hours, I couldn’t help but feel pity for some of them…tired, hungry but still cuties!

she was given a chicken leg, or so I thought

such a handsome young face

and I was jealous of her for she had the best view

It was a tiring, but lovely day. Not only that it was dry but the sun also shined during the parade which I can;t say the same about the past year. I hope the coming year, we’ll get a good weather…because I couldn’t wait to see 2008′s parade theme!
