Don’t you sometimes find how amazing our world is? What wonderful things God has created just for us to enjoy! If I think of the still unexplored areas of lands and water that man hasn’t touched yet, it gets me pretty excited thinking of the secrets they keep, when will they be shared with me, with us?

Anyway, this leaf was a sample of my ‘little’ excitement. Seeing it up close and more clearer after post processing this image. I had to smile when I saw those fine hair on the leaf surface. We were cleaning out weeds that morning but before cutting them, I decided to take out my camera when I saw water droplets all over the greens. And the outcome did not disappoint me. Amazing how the fiber-like-hairs control the tiniest droplets of water.

Before I end this, I wish to apologize to you folks who are regular droppers on my (ex) entrecard and spot buyers. Unfortunately I received an email from them telling me that they deleted it. No warning whatsoever, which is fine by me since they own it. Along with my account they also deleted 1,400+ worth of credits. Only I wish they will change such act and rather send warning first or however you call it, so that users can at least warn those who order spots from them. A sign of respect. The reason they gave me is because ‘they do not support other languages but english’.
Sad that they have such policy. Sad that they only zoomed in on my previous entry where I had to use my beloved language. Sad that they based their decision only on my previous entry. Sad that they did not bother to check that + 90% of my entry is in English language.

Between entrecard and using my own language, there’s no competition. I will always choose my language. But will I ever use entrecard again? Why not? I think it’s one cool way to let other people advertise for free on my blog eventhough I seldom buy spots from other bloggers. But probably, I will re-apply before the years ends. Or probably not. C’est la vie!

Have a great weekend, yah all!

Remember Alf? That talkative, obnoxious (at times), funny, lovable alien who was adopted by a loving family, accepted him as one of them?
I remember back in the 80’s, my siblings and I were allowed in the evening to watch him before we call it a night. As kids, we’d usually fight for the remote control for tv programs but when it comes to Alf, we were in harmony. Ah those were the days! ‘Wish I was a child again whose only concern is when to eat, play, watch tv and sleep!
My husband’s got this tiny Alf toy which he forgot about and I found it clipped on the curtain in his office. I just thought I’d play with it using my lens baby and +4 macro lens…it was fun looking at Alf via the viewfinder. Made me smile and recall those crazy tv program days we enjoyed!

Our weekend was busy. On Saturday, my husband and I went to the next city to shop for few personal needed items, did our weekly grocery but before that, we worked (office stuff) a bit in the morning too. Sunday, we had to tend our garden infested by snails and slugs. All plants that we both several weeks ago had died so we, rather my husband (who did most of the garden work) had to pull out all the roots, weeds and also chopped over-growing stalks. I did the wash, cleaned the house, cut my father-in-law’s hair and cook a simple meal for us.
Both my husband and dad-in-law love spicy food so I made a simple Thai combination of Pad Thai, chicken satay and made my own sauce. If you’ll be interested for the recipes, here they are: pad thai recipe, chicken satay recipe and peanut satay sauce recipe.

My Pad Thai yesterday was a quick fix, but if you’ll click the recipe link above you’ll find a better version.

I hope you like them too.

I chose to feature my friend Kees (Christa’s hubby, my Mahal na Ina featured mom for L.P.) for this L.P.’s theme. Why not my own dad? Like I said before, I chose to keep my private life off of my blogs.

This is Kees. Relaxed (left) BBQ main man (right)

*Si Kees. Nag posed para sa akin (ang layo ng translation ano? he he) at sya rin ang tagaluto ng BBQ namin habang kami ay naiinip at gutom na *lol*

KEES is a dear friend of my small family. Caring not only his for own family but for us as well. He always extends his hands whenever we or anybody needs help. A loving dad to his kids (inserted photo, with 1st born Christian. Handsome looking young man isn’t he? Luckily he looks like his mom, har har har! Peace be with you Kees, I know you’re reading this ha ha ha! ) and a good provider. Is the relationship with the kids tight? Very! in my honest opinion.

Christa his wife, wrote a piece (or rather I twisted her arms to write a few words for this entry.) Here’s what she’s written:

“Kees is my loving husband.
Honest, straight, kind and always in for a joke and a friendly word and smile.
His smile is one of my favorites.
Whenever somebody needs help, Kees will be there to help and to support.
He realy is a very social feeling person
Next year we will be married for 25 years.
In your marriage you need someone tor rely on, to depend on and to know for sure
that he will always be there in the good times but also in the time of troubles
and difficulties.
I know for sure that Kees is someone like that and that is a privilage to know.
I am very thankfull to have Kees as my husband and the father of our children
Christian and Vivian.

And I hope that we will be for ever in good health and with the blessing of God
our Father in Heaven.”

This was written by one of the most honest person I’ve met in this lifetime.

Here’s a sample of the comic Kees…he is such a clown at times you’d pee in your pants when he does things like this (photo under)

* Hindi ko na po ita translate lahat kundi ilang linya lang tulad nito: Nakita nyo naman, nakatirik pa mata nyan! ha ha ha *

Kees may be a strong dad, a big guy , but inside him still is this little boy who collects old matchbox miniatures, old cameras (addicted to photography too and his wife even told me that he took after my food photography - meaning he ‘ d take photos of food before they can start eating *lol* ) miniature trains and a lot more. If you’ll enter his collection room in their home, you’ll think you’re in a toy store!

sample of his vintage miniatures, I was ‘permitted’ to touch them and take ‘em photos.

to end, Kees is a cool and definitely a loving dad. A treasured friend by us.

- all photos were permitted to be posted by Kees and Christa.

*Kees, harstikke bedankt dat ik over je mocht schrijven en Christa, bedankt voor dit stukje. Cris, ik heb jouw vader voor de copyright betaald! - veel liefs, Thess*
