After a hard day’s work there’s nothing more relaxing than to simply spread a picnic cloth on the ground then lay (lie, whichever you prefer) flat on my back on top of it and stare at the beautiful blue sky which we’re now enjoying in this part of the world. Though temperature isn’t scorching (20C max) it’s enough to make us want to stay outside our homes after being hostaged by low temperature for many months. We’re like ants running everywhere like locos during springtime.

I invited my husband to join me yesterday and asked him if he’d like to eat his dinner (sandwiches) outside as well, he said yes…so we did. After our light dinner we just stayed there and before I knew it I heard him snoring softly beside me. Ah, poor hardworking man, go right ahead..snore as long as you want.

While he was snoring, I started counting planes that were flying in the sky. It’s unbelievable how busy the sky gets. At one point I was even intensely watching 2 planes that seemed would collide on air because from my point of view, it really looked just like that! I also started to enjoy watching birds chasing each other, flying around like they’re truly enjoying what this season gives.

Just above my head were these young leaves from the pear tree. Still light green but in a few days time, they’ll turn into darker shade and hopefully, this tree will produce pears for me to cook.
I love Spring time!

Foodie, yes I am!

I grew up in a family that loves to eat. My grandmother was the food matriarch in the family. She was the one who taught my mother, aunts and even my uncles to cook. How to cook good and tasty food. My grandmother did believe in those easy to prepare meals that come out of the box, or even frozen ingredients. Everything must be fresh. I remember as a young child and quite robust, my grandmother would always send me to the market to find her ingredients. You see I wasn’t afraid to hustle prices with stores owners and most of the time I was able to save some money because of that..that’s why I was the favorite to be sent to the market. I did not mind and even am thankful to this day because I have learned a lot fresh produce.
Well going back to good food, because of my grandma’s good taste, I kind of inherited it as well that when I became an adult and start to work in hotels, I begin to appreciate and acquire not only good tasting food but preparation as well. That’s why dining for me is quite important. Like if my husband and I are going out to dine , I would always request to go to restaurants that are known to serve quality food. It doesn’t matter if it’s a bit expensive as long as the food is worth it. Food that are prepared by trained chefs who take pride with what they do. I am always elated whenever I see a well designed plate. A work of art, in the form of food. I’m always in heaven whenever I taste food that really could make me forget even my name! Oh, that’s what I usually say when I taste something dreamy, that I could forget my own name.
I find such restaurants by also browsing the internet. It’s shame that we live in Europe, otherwise I would love to try this San Diego restaurant. Their website simply is amazing! the restaurant has awards, wonderful menu, and experienced chefs. Now I can’t stop dreaming about food!

When I was growing up I was a bit ashamed of my nose. I also felt a bit jealous towards my siblings because they have noses that are nicely shaped and not flat like mine. My mother’s joking that I was adopted did not help raise my already deflated ego nor kids’, I mean bullies in the neighborhood’s constant tortures like: ‘flat nose’ or ‘are you sure you’re not adopted?’ I must admit that it really bothered me for many years and have caused me to think of rhinoplasty nose reshaping because I was so convinced that this was the only solution to this ‘embarrassment’.

But as I become more mature, I realized that nose reshaping isn’t for me though many people opt to have their noses reshaped for their own reasons. Am I against it? Certainly not. So why didn’t I had my nose reshaped.

Because I believe in the beauty inside.

I may not be beautiful outside and I only have this flat nose…but I love me. I love myself. And I know I am not a bad person. I learned to accept that not everybody will accept you for who you are but that’s not my problem. Teasing come from people who are insecure themselves. So would I let this kind of people or ugly words destroy my spirit? Beside there isn’t anything that a good make up can not do to make my nose, any nose for that matter look good.

I have two sisters who are both parents. The eldest with 4 children, 2 boys and two girls while my other younger sister has 3 , 2 boys and a girl. Seven in all, that when together in one house, sometimes they drive me nuts! But children are blessings, children are to be loved, children are to be treasured. Though I am not a parent myself ( I only have a baby doggy) I can understand how being one is. It is a lot of hard work. A 24/7 job that some say, the hardest job in the planet.

I can still remember the very first time my eldest sister got pregnant of her first born. At a young age, pregnancy was quite scary for her and needless to say, parenting as well. During those days we did not have a computer nor internet connection thus advices from family members (both those who went through pregnancy themselves and even those who did not, the uncles and dad) were heard, coming from all corner. But sharing of true experiences from current pregnant women from same age bracket was needed. That my sister was not able to get.

But times have changed and with it came along the wonders of information that we can find on the internet. These days, women who are pregnant for the first time have parenting and pregnancy resource to learn all that is needed to become a happy pregnant women because of the interaction with other pregnant women, and the news, advices they give to each other proved helpful. With parenting and pregnancy resources , how I wish my sisters had the chance to experience this website during those months when they really needed answers to their parenting questions. Like the times my nephews or nieces will not sleep properly, this website provides such article: “Sleep Patterns for your baby at different ages” or when the babies were sick, my sisters were panicking because of the lack of hows and whats, articles such as this would have been a great help “First aid” , isn’t that too important that every parent should know?

Also another thing that I know my sister would have enjoyed are the videos they feature, learning by not just listening but also watching how the informations were provided. I found this video on “What to do if your child chokes“. Even I will not know what to do if I have a baby on my arms that is choking! Glad there are parenting videos such as this giving tips to adults who need them.

What about you? Are you carrying your first child right now? Maybe this website will come handy to you…so why not check it out to find informations about pregnancy and parenting..also take part, receive newsletter and have contact with others, by simply registering. Have fun!
