LP 174: Sementeryo (cemetery)
Nov 2nd
Join us at Litratong Pinoy .Com
Autumn colors.
Oct 30th
I wanted to get some fresh air the other day so when I saw my husband placing the dog’s leash, I immediately jump on the chance and ask if I can come with them. Like I needed to ask him
Anyway, we went to the nearby park which is the favorite park of our little puggy. He’d actually tell us humans where he’d like to go. He’d lead the way. Yes, he’s actually walking us.
Just like our pug, I also like walking around ‘his’ park. Especially during this Autumn, it’s filled with wonderful colors. So it isn’t hard to find trees, animals or spots to photograph.
I actually do not like how I took this photo. No composition. No focus. I just clicked the shutter. But hey, who says only the nicest photos deserve to be published?
I love the colors!
NY trip, when’s it gonna be?
Oct 30th
I have two aunts living in the United States for many years. As well as college friends and people I met online, who eventually became good friends too. One of my aunts has been urging me to come and visit her, this has been going on for a few years now. My friends too! “When are you coming over, Thess?” , is the usual line I get on my message boxes and chat boxes.
I sure would want to visit everybody, my feet are actually itching to travel. Who wouldn;t want to see your family? Who wouldn’t want to meet old college friends after 2 decades of not seeing each other? Who wouldn’t want to see faces of people you normally would only speak to online?
I would also love to see the whole of New York, one dream was to see the twin towers which we all know, remains just a dream, definitely. But there are so many places to visit in New York. Musical shows to see. Shopping to do. And I’ve been promised to be taken to a few Filipino and other Asian restaurants in the city. So yeah, the foodie in me can’t wait to go to the city that never sleeps. The question is, when is the right time to go?
Yesterday, if only possible. I would have booked me my plane ticket, hotel and even car service NYC! But unfortunately, packing my bags and go on a trip isn’t that easy. Financial wise. I am responsible not only for myself but for others too. Besides due to unfortunate circumstance, I had to make two trips back to Asia. Thus my plan to go to the United States was pushed back.
Anyway, I know someday I’ll be singing Liza Minelli’s ‘New York, New York’ the minute I land in NY!

This little girl has captured my attention while I was relaxing by the pool. That was during my recent vacation in Thailand.
I was there, lazily iPading when suddenly I hear her mother’s voice, counting. So I begin to talk to mom. She says they agreed she’ll come out the pool when she reaches their agreed number. But the little cute girl is really enjoying the water so I said to mom : ‘I’ll talk to you so you’ll forget to count’ LoL!
I asked mom if it’s all right to take photos of her little girl, she says go right ahead. I also promised mom I’ll be emailing her copies.
Khun Sasiwadee Nacaskul, my apology for my late email, I hope you and your family enjoy the photos. You forgot to write down your baby’s name for me though. Sending you regards from Holland. Kisses for the cute girl! – Thess
Seek the one that fits you. Webhosting that is.
Oct 27th
I would just like to make a follow up on my previous post (yesterday. 27-10-2011) about website hosting as I intend to give my friend another info (link) about his seeking of the best webhost there is offered on the internet. I did some browsing this morning and found this website.
Figuring out which web host is selling the truth, these days hosting reviews written by clients themselves help a lot those intending to buy domains. This I forgot to mention to my friend so since I know he’s reading my post, do not forget to check out this new links that I’m sharing with you. Also goes out for you folks who are planning on getting your own domain. Sure it’s easy buying but ask yourself if you’re ready to be confronted with problems e.g. downtime, upgrades etc on your own or with your webhost?
I said it before and please allow me to say it again, many webhosts would sell you all beautiful promises but when the time comes you need them, they’re nowhere to be found to help you out. Thus reading reviews about webhosts is a great help. Clients share their experiences , no-holds-barred review. So what better way to know the truth about webhosts than reading it from their own clients, right?
My advice is try to take time to read reviews, then decide. Rather than buying without knowing the host’s background. This is to avoid any future problems regarding your website, which always occur. Make sure your chosen webhost will be there for you.
Up Khao Takiab
Oct 26th
Although it was partially cloudy, it was still extremely hot for me back in October 1, 2011 when we visited Khao Takiab in Hua-Hin Thailand.
Khao Takiab also means chopstick hill. I took this photo up the hill where both Chinese and Thai religious objects are located. This obviously is part of the Chinese display. Unfortunately I am not an expert to talk about what’s on the hill, I only like taking photos of what I see.
More photos coming up on my next posts.
Meaning literally “chopstick hill” Khao Takiab is dominated by a 272 m high headland that juts out into the sea. It is clearly visible at the southern end of Hua Hin beach. If you approach the hill this way, you are rewarded with the sight of a 20m tall Lord Buddha statue and there are other religious figures, both Thai and Chinese, at the summit, together with a statue of King Rama V. The hill is also known as “Monkey Mountain” due to large numbers of monkeys (macaques) that are resident there. Whilst not really fierce, care should be taken when they are around as they have a habit of grabbing and making off with anything that takes their fancy, especially handbags and cameras. It is probably better not to feed them as the larger males can sometimes become aggressive if the bananas have run out.

This afternoon I had lunch with a friend of mine at a nearby cafeteria. We did some catching up and I’ve learned that his girlfriend is about to embark into the world of baking (business.) She’s currently into the 3rd phase of her baking course (almost graduating, diploma is at hand’s reach) and actually could not wait to start her own (online) bakery. I’ve known her girlfriend for 2 years now and I was pleasantly surprised at the news, because I know how exciting it is to do something you really love and earn from it!
As we got into talking, my friend mentioned about her needs of good photos to place on her upcoming website. I said I can help her out with the photos. Also I asked him if he’s already found a reliable webhost, the answer was no. Thus I gave him this link for webhosting choices. Owning several websites the past 7 years I guess it makes me an expert in choosing one.
It’s pretty easy to buy domain name and start up a website these days. But many people do not realize that choosing the most reliable webhost is, if not the most critical part. Don’t fall victims to those who promise heaven-and-earth-kind-of-service but after you’ve paid your domain, they fall short of their promises. Question most people ask is: which webhost to trust?
Please do check the link above. And if you are in need of specific webhosting, do browse the website’s subpages. If like my friend’s girlfriend who is starting a business, I’d advise her to check out the best business hosting to find the webhost suit to her business’s needs.
Take the time in choosing webhost. Take it from me.
