Dog kennels.
May 15th
Dogs as pets have never been so popular than ever! Thanks to many hollywood stars who paraded dogs, of all sizes, everywhere where the paparazzis are. But I must be honest, most of these hollywood have genuine love for their dogs, or so I feel. Just like ordinary people like you and me. Dogs do make a family complete, many say. Dogs give love to their masters under any circumstances, unconditional love. That’s why they also deserve to be treated with love, showered with it even. After all, unlike humans, dogs will remain faithful until the end of its life, that’s a sweet fact.
Because our dogs are considered part of the family, we take them wherever we go, if possible. Visiting other family members or on vacation, dogs are there. That is why it’s important to keep them safe during traveling. If you are bringing your dog to other places and hasn’t done this yet, I suggest you do. Place your dogs in travel kennel for their own safety. You buckle up your child when traveling, right? Responsible owners should do the same to their dogs. And I know just the e-store where you can get these , simply clikc this dog kennels for sale link and it will take you directly to a website where you can find different kennels for your dogs. If you’re looking for a kennel for inside your home, do browse the site thoroughly and you’ll surely find what you need.
Love your dogs, just the way you want to be loved in return.
Sun, needed.

What is happening to our weather? We’re supposed to be enjoying the (almost) end of spring here in Holland but all we’re getting are rains, gray skies and cold temperature. Thick winter jackets were taken out the closet and being used again. It’s crazy!
Weeks ago I have planned to plant summer plants in the garden but because of this weather, well our garden is empty, void of wonderful colors that I long to see, if possible the whole year round.
I’m glad I have photos in my files such as this to look at, to enjoy.
Ah, why is the sun not shining when it’s supposed to?
Protect your pets.

Having pets at home can be wonderful! Some people consider pets as part of their family. Even considered (and treated) like human children. Loved by people but in return pets also give love, unconditionally. Pets can be good for children. Because of pets children learn how to be responsible (like walking the dog) and caring (gentle handling of smaller pets.) Dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, rabbits, chinchillas, rats…it doesn’t matter which pet you get, as owner comes the responsible to them, to take care of them, in return.
It is important to cage pets that are needed to be caged. Especially the ‘cute’ and small ones, the kind children can’t resist to always touch and cuddle. Too much cuddling may result to hurting the animals. Some of them might be cute but cute pets also bite. Such as ferrets, these animals are hunters in the wild and have sharp teeth that can really cause serious pain not only to children but the adults too when got bitten. Also it isn’t wise for these small animals to run freely around the house to avoid accidentally running over them. If you have rats, then you need rat cages to keep them. Small pets are not supposed to roam around freely.
So care for your pets correctly. Buy them cages to protect your pets and yourself too.
I wish I can paint too….

My father in law’s greatest hobby was reproducing beautiful paintings. He’s in a nursing home now where he gets 2 days/week of therapy, including exercises for his hands. Some days, he’s having a ball, but he also have those frustrating days. Since he was transferred to the nursing home, he only got to doodle once. He drew trees in the park but it was like a work of a child. Sometimes he’d even forgot that it was his doodle.
In the past I have posted some of his works here, here, and the unfinished girl with the pearl earring by Vermeer. These are only 4 of his many reproduction (including the photo) .
This still life painting is one of my favorites. I just marvel at the reflection on that decanther. How can someone paint this well while he had no training at all? My father in law says it’s all in his imagination. Such as to produce reflections he only imagined ways to mix the right colors!
I know I have such wild fantasy (according to my husband) like an artist, but how I wish I have my father in law’s too.
Ah, you simply can’t have it all.
Look at me!

In The Netherlands, euthanasia is allowed. Same sex marriage is allowed. Weeds in cafes are sold. Street ‘performers’ are allowed. Criminals roam free, no I kid you not (this latter remark might get me into trouble with my Dutch friends..but you know that my opinion is not baseless)
But I tell you, there still are Dutch people who have decency who are appropriate. Such are these 3 young women! I love love love the smiles on their faces while having conversation with him. I knew they wanted to. But they couldn’t! Kudos to their mums and dads!
Dodenherdenking
May 4th
May 4 is the Nationale Dodenherdenking (Remembrance of the Dead / Remembering the dead) in Netherlands. Today the living give their time to think of all those who have fallen to the Germans during World War II. Tonight at 8pm, there will be a 2 minutes silence that will be offered to the victims. Both public and private transports will stop on their tracks, people inside their homes will be silent, some will offer prayers.
I guess the most celebrated victim of them all was Anne Frank (1924-1945.) The Jewish teenager who wrote her journal while hiding with her family in an attic in Amsterdam. Anne lost her German nationality in 1941 due to the anti-Semitic policies of Nazi Germany. She and her family fled to Netherlands and there stayed until found in the attic by German soldiers.
I have been in the Anne Frank Huis (museum) in Amsterdam way back in 2004. It was the same house where Anne’s family went to hiding. No cameras were allowed inside but I managed to take this shot, of the bookcase (replica) that covered the entrance to the secret annexe.
In Netherlands alone, 8,729,000 fell victim to the war, about 104,000 of them were Jews. In the whole of Europe estimated death is from 6million -7 million.
As you can see I didn’t used on my title the word ‘National’ because my post isn’t just about the victims in Holland. I am remembering the others who in my opinion are also victims. They are the german soldiers who followed Hitler’s order until the end. Those german soldiers who believed Hitler will bring Germany to its greatness, to a full glory. I am remembering especially the young german soldiers, some were still boys who I’m sure would have had a better chance in life had the many attempts on Hitler’s life succeeded before 1945.
The following photos were taken in Balogna Belgium. We rode in the area and on the way spotted this rather lonely cemetary. Coming closer, there I found out that it wasn’t a cemetery for heroes but rather for fallen german soldiers, both known names and the unknown were buried here.
the first cross in front bears 3 soldiers: ‘ein Deutscher soldat’ followed by 2 names which means some of them were unidentified and perhaps their families to this day are still bearing their loss too.
just in front of the cemetery was this board.
Nobody wins in war. Nobody.
dear blog….
May 3rd
An open letter to my blog.
I’VE MISSED YOU, MY PHOTOBLOG!! I am sorry for ‘neglecting’ you for few weeks, you know how busy it has been for me. I am not happy that I was not able to fulfill my PROJECT 365 too because of it. Bhu hu hu! There will be another year for you and me, right?
There, I feel a lot better now that it’s off my chest!
But I really feel it’s a shame that I was not able to upload daily photo for my year project
But I am back and will try to update as much as I could. As my comeback photo, a part of the cave in Belgium (Ardenne) which I visited with my husband and girl friend last Friday. It was one of those moments that I truly appreciate this camera with full sensor and RAW mode of shooting. The cave was metres under the ground, wet, and very very dark. You can only see with the help of few lightings placed strategically.
Don’t ask me (yet) which cave in Ardenne this was, because I truly forgot!
