Escape to Germany and Austria

Winter is here again and just like any winter, people from countries like The Netherlands, which has no mountains, would pack their gears and spend their winter vacation in nearby countries like Germany and Austria which are known for their wonderful slopes and ski resorts. But do you know what smart people do during winters too? They also go to the said countries but far from the crowd. yes, that’s right! These two countries have so much to offer than just skiing.

I have been bugging my husband to go to Berlin. Though we went to the Eastern part of Germany early last year, we did not had the chance to visit Berlin. The next time we go I’m going to search for the best Hotels in Berlin and make a booking for two. By the way this is for our friends who might be reading this and prefer it in german language, klicken Sie bitte die Verbindung, Hotels in Berlin .

Of course another great destination, which happens to be one of my most favorite European country is Austria. I love the friendly people, food, history, mountains and for the fact that Mozart was born in Salzburg, I have visited that city 4 times already. In the near future when we visit again, I hope we could go to Vienna this time, of course we will be booking via Hotels in Vienna and again for our german speaking friends, klicken Sie bitte die Verbindung, Hotels in Berlin.

Both countries have so much to offer: historical places and monuments, great cities, arts and music and most of all ski resorts. Find out how easy it will be to get there. Like me, I’ll just use these links.

I miss UK

I went to England for the first time last April, with two friends. I was the one who made the reservation online, but since it was my first time to do so, I’m afraid that I got a service from a not so reliable travel agents. I definitely want to go back and see more of England this time so I will be sure not to make the mistake again of booking my trip via that agent.

I have found this link as source for Hotels in London. Now that I know better , I know exactly where, what and how I should go about things. I might go back with some friends so we might go visit other English cities as well. Hotels in Manchester I have found from this site, quite attractive in prices too.

And if we have enough time, we might jump into the 3rd city thus this link of Hotels in Birmingham is exactly what I need to book our accommodation. There are so much hotels to choose from thus this might be an exciting trip. Since with accommodation saving us a bit of money, there ‘ll be extra for shopping.

Pen mightier than a sword

Essay Writing, oh boy! I was never good in that during my school years. Some kids have the talent, some just doesn’t. I remember sleepless nights I had to go through just to finish essays that were due. I might be strong in some subjects as math but essay writing?

I’m sure that students of today need not worry over writing essays because quality academic writing is offered by masterpapers which delivers exactly what the students ask for. How I wish we had a service that could help us out on essay writings during my time.

Sure, you’re on vacation and part of that is meeting new and exciting new people. But sometimes you just want to retire to your Caribbean villa and relax by yourself. If you’re staying at a hotel, that can be a tricky proposition, with families going up and down the hallways, screaming, laughing, making noise, and just generally disturbing your ability to relax in silence. That’s why I always recommend St. Martin villas, St. Thomas villas and St. Lucia villas to all of my friends. These villas will let you get away on vacation, meet new people, have fun, but also afford you the privacy that you might want from time to time. Check out the villas that are available today and I’m sure you’ll be going there for your next vacation..

Carnival Queen and more!

Yearly, a summer carnival is held in Rotterdam where thousands of people occupy the streets to catch a glimpse of the year’s chosen queen.

This was she. Poseidon’s (see Oct. 31st entry) daughter.

It was also my opportunity to use my (then) newly purchased 3rd party lens, a tamron 70mm-300mm. I really was a Point & Shoot hobbyist, but since I bought the Canon 350D, I enjoy this hobby more.

Who was that?!

He was Poseidon.

Picture was taken this summer at Rotterdam’s yearly (street) Summer Carnival.

People from Rotterdam and nearby cities were lucky to have a sunny weather that day. Thousands of people were already lined up the long streets where the Parade was to pass and me and my husband were among those who patiently waited. It was a festive mood that, more that I ever expected. Maybe because it was my first time to attend it and I really didn’t know what was in store for me.

I enjoyed using my camera that day. I saw the local media covering the event, interviewing people and both young old. I also saw professional photographers taking good spots…funny thing was, they were all checking out each other’s camera. they were checking me out too, so I kinda felt I was one of them guys, *lol*

Anyway, follow up photos on my next entry.

Am I alone in this or other couples experience the same? Tell me if you experience this, ok?

Why is it that people, be married or not, who live together for quite sometime tend to forget, even impossible to remember details of shared conversation?

One evening, seated on the sofa [not side by side though because since we had PUGngit (Charlie) he's always seated in our middle...he has decided that it's his rightful place :-P ] I opened my mouth to start one of those conversations. You know like this:

Me: what time are we leaving tomorrow for ******? You didn’t forget, right?

Him: how could I’ve forgotten, we never had such agreement. (not even looking at me but at the tele)

Me: What?! You told me you’re taking a day off so that we can spend time together and go to ******! You even suggested that we do this!! (by this time, my nose is flapping and fire starts to come out)

Him: I never told you that!

whaaapppppaaaakkk!! (no I didn’t hit my husband, but my forehead)

We continued back and forth until my voice raised a few octaves higher, so thin it could shatter your eyeglasses. And on that note, I devised a plan on the spot that would  I thought   solve this problem, because yes, it is becoming a problem because my husband tends to forget his OWN WORDS. I said, each important conversation in the future, even a simple thing like when he takes a receipt from me, I will write it down on my agenda- of course detailed- and he has to sign each time I present it to him. He laughed. Grrrr! My nose flapped again!! I said I was serious and will not have any of his ” I never said that! ” or “I’ve never done that! ”

It is rather frustrating whenever this happens because I can remember the details while he really honestly couldn’t. Not that his having memory lapses but he works hard, believe it or not almost always during his waking hours, his brain is in constant work mode that nothing else matters unless I step in. I guess that’s my job to give our marriage its balance. Otherwise, WWIII na!

We also constantly give each other instructions. At the back of our heads maybe it’s our way of taking ‘revenge’ when one has commited a booboo. *lol* , revenge with L-O-V-E. Instructions like: “ Put the wc seat down after using it” or “Be sure to close the door and all windows behind you before leaving the house” then see whose brain would delete part or at times the entire instruction! Marital communication short-circuits, I once read on a magazine.

But but but! without this I can honestly say, married life, MY married life is boring. I actually get a kick out of this ( sometimes, ha! ha! ) especially when I turn out right (and pout when wrong.)

Like them, I want us to be. Ika nga ni tita Sharon:

“Kung tayo ay matanda na, sana’y d tayo magbago

Kailanman, nasaan man ito ang pangarap ko

so on and so on…

KAHIT MAPUTI NA ANG BUHOK KOOOOOOOOOOO (sustain ang ‘Ko’ )

KAHIT MAPUTI NA ANG BUHOK KO.” *smile*

Have a good week, you all!
