I had a bit of time (well, taking a pause from work) when I suddenly just grabbed my camera, some ‘little people’ and start taking photos of ‘them’ . Them are actually miniatures display for train set which I bought last year but only used today. You see my husband has this collection of trains and I bought some displays for him. But he isn’t using the miniatures yet so I made them my macro models.

How small were they? I’ll be posting next time another sample from the set.

This is my favorite couple. the bench they were seating on is separate and sitting them on top of it took me few minutes because they’re so light and unsteady. but it’s worth it, I enjoyed playing with them.

The Master was my neighbor

The small city where we live is known to be the oldest city in Holland. I live here for almost 10 years now but I’ve learned about something extraordinary only lately. That I walk on the very same streets where Vincent Van Gogh walked on. What you see below, though not the original building but exactly where the bookstore Blussé en Van Braam [boek handel] used to stand was where Vincent Van Gogh worked as an assistant.

At the left side of this building, the city government placed a stone that says:

in this street lived Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) January - May 1877

It’s crazy how ignorant I was of the city’s history because back in the mid 90’s, the building next to this was where I used to work!

Yep, Vincent was my neighbor!

peek a boo!

What do you get when you have a companion who always wants to be in front of the camera? Well, this is what I got! I was aiming at the post (sign) when out of nowhere, there he was! shameless!!

Whenever Charlie sees me holding a camera, he’d get in front (in this case, back) of my target and well…he’s just a willing model. Anyday, anytime, anywhere. But I’m not complaining, I love it when he does that!

Is Charlie SHY?

On the music side, last year I was surprised when I saw and heard this dutch singer performing live on the television. I had to take a closer look because I thought I was seeing things wrong, either his piano was placed higher on the podium or he’s pretty small. It was the latter. He’s pretty unknown then but I guess that performance made him a big man. I mean BIG! Roel Van Velzen is ’small but terrible!’ I say this with all positive admiration. Click the audio if you want to hear him.

Here’s one from Charlie, to all of you.
