People say without water, there is no life quite accurate right? Can we survive if water is removed from our planet? I find it ridiculous because I am afraid to ride a ship because if it sinks, well, I can’t swim -hence my fear of water. But on the other hand, without water to drink is unthinkable!

I compiled photos which I think are suitable for this Thursday theme. I hope you enjoy them.

** ice photos I took last night ..my husband was joking that our kitchen is really versatile, that it’s also my ‘ studio .’

**last Sunday by the haven, this is our city. If you notice it’s cloudy…a typical Dutch weather.

** a fountain in the middle of our city. During Fridays and Saturdays, this fountain is quiet because a market is erected on the spot on the said days. How I wish we often get a blue sky. Natural light is what I miss the most that’s why I don’t shoot much outdoors :(

** This was taken last year. I saw this crab while I was walking on the beach of Hua Hin in Thailand . This is my most favorite beach in Thailand even though it’s not sandy white and even hard to swim in it. It was because for years while I was still working in Thailand, here was where I spent countless hours to clear my head, and also the place where I learned to catch crabs and gather mussels.

** the same beach in Thailand, I saw this guy fishing.

**This was taken at the Chao Praya River in Bangkok, Thailand.

** and lastly, my dog ‘watering’ the pole that says: pwede pakawalan ang mga aso dito, pwede din damputin ang kanilang poopoo.

Eyes in the sky?

This is not so wordless as I need to ask you to click the image to view a larger scale. I took this photo when I was in Thailand last year. Overlooking Bangkok and I was standing on the 83rd floor of Baiyoke Sky Hotel, the highest hotel in Thailand. The floor was revolving and it was quite difficult to get a good shot. All I did with this photo was resize it. As you can see it’s blurred. But can you also see something else?

Wordless Wednesday…check it out and all participants here

Hotdogs, anyone?!

One afternoon during our Thailand vacation last year, I left my husband in the hotel (basking under the scorching sun 35C approx, yay!) , packed up may camera and lenses and went to the nearby market. We we’re in Hua Hin, our favorite province in the Southern part, just about 198 kilometers from Bangkok.

I’m quite familiar with the area since I worked and lived there for several years in the 90’s, but unlike my Dutch husband, it wasn’t just the warmth of the sun that I was after during that October vacation but I really wanted to visit all the places that were close to my heart. And well, in most of those places food is involved.

I am going to do a series of entry of my visits….so here’s to start it with. It was around 1pm when I went to the market and it was still early for most Thai people to get their snacks. This lady selling grilled hotdogs and seafood balls was quite early. Early bird do catches the worm, right?

When I was still living there, I must admit those squid balls were one of my favorite snacks…spicy and yummy! Inexpensive as well.

Look at how clean the area was! Well, Thai people are known for their cleanliness too.

more yummy snacks!

It was so nice of her to let me take her photos…

hmm….now I want some hotdogs!!

join me on my next market trip, aye? ;)
