Daisies, on low light.
Now that I finally have room to move in my little studio, I can go back doing what I love most. Photography under low light. That means I only allow a teeny weeny bit light to pass through the window. Sure I got sofboxes BUT still my room is too small for those that the challenge of not using them but the window light becomes my favorite during such shoot.
I consider it a good day if I get good lighting from outside, yep, that’s Holland for us bunch here. (Almost) always we get gray-depressive skies. Which prompted me (self-taught) using what I know now. It isn’t crazy at all if at times I give myself a pat on the shoulder when friends and my extremely critique husband find my compositions ‘beautiful’. To them I rely to be better.
Some say photographing flowers on black background is unappealing. It’s the unappealing that gives me challenge. What’s more, I LOVE using black background to make my subjects pop!
Ok, enough self loving there

I’m back from our much needed vacation…but I’m not really excited to be back home to be honest. I miss Thailand! I miss sunshine, the beach, food, warm weather….bring me back to Thailand please! If only that easy, and affordable, my husband and I would pack our suitcases again and fly directly to Asia, in…

Things that I just can’t stand looking at are creepy creatures like ants (colonies of them, argh!) , wasps flying around (because I got stung in the past and that was one painful experience ) maggots ( feels like they’re creeping down my neck and arms, argh!! ) , worms, dirty toilets (self explanatory, right?)…

I had fun shooting this one. Unfortunately I can’t identify this flower’s name but this was a small one which I cut from a bouquet my husband has bought me few days ago. I am enjoying a lot using different objects to shoot for this ‘carbonated’ art. Although my eyes are failing me (I really…

I was glad that I was able to take some photos using my small studio last night. Because I also turned it (studio) into a hobby room where I placed a big table, it’s because of that I can hardly move around the room let alone place my softboxes strategically if I wanted to play…

Instead of enjoying Springtime, we’re nearing the the month of June for Pete’s sakes – we are still experiencing cold, gray, and even rainy days! So yes, we…

“Thess! Thess!” calls a man from behind me. Surely he ‘s not calling me because the voice’s unfamiliar, I thought…so I did not turn around. Besides, I was busy photographing this dog that suddenly took interest in my camera. “Thess, come here now!” Huh? what’s with this dude, why is he getting all worked up?!…

Shot with Canon 5DMII / Canon EF 70mm – 300 mm F/4-5.6 L IS USM. No edit – No filter “Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to…
