Garden snail or Helix aspersa, which I found this morning attached to a wood. I’m not quite sure what that thing is behind it, it wasn’t soft but hard. This little fellow was escaping the rising sun. Time to go back to where it’s dark.

My kids love picking those up,I have lots of empty shells now which really are good photo subjects!
