I saw this beautiful flower in the garden of The Grand Palace in Bangkok Thailand. The second I saw it, I fell in love with it but due to the fact that the Grand Palace was already the 4th tourist spot we hit that day and I was becoming pretty tired, I forgot to ask our tour guide about this flower. I really really want to find out where I can get hold of this flower, probably to take to Holland and breed for our garden.

I tell you it’s unbelievably B E A U T I F U L and unique!

To make my search a bit interesting, for that someone who could give me the correct information and possibly an online link about this flower, I will send you one of these smilies I bought in Thailand (just click the thumbnail for a bigger image), just choose the one you fancy

it’s made of wood.

Thanks,

Thess

NOTE: I am also holding this search on my other blog so this is a first correct info- first served basis.

ADDED NOTE: someone has already identified the flower for me, it’s a flower from Cannon-Ball tree …Sofie was really fast!

ay , meron kaming ganyang flower sa aming cloister garden- pero hindi talaga eksakto na cannoball tree- its a flower from poppy plants na wild grown lang–the color is same and the shape is same with that cannon ball tree flower….
may kwento ako about this poppy flower- may isang monk na biniro ang isang monk na nahihilo daw at masaket ulo- so ang pilyong monk ay pumigtal ng isang poppy flower at ipina-amoy ng ipinaamoy ito dun- sumunod naman ang gullible na monk hoping na mawawala ang hilo nya- sus, after an hour ay hilong talilong na bumalik sa cel nya at nakatulog- nagising ay the next morning na!…. yun pala- ay wild opium flower ang ipina amoy —nabangag ang pobreng monghe!…
