Although it was partially cloudy, it was still extremely hot for me back in October 1, 2011 when we visited Khao Takiab in Hua-Hin Thailand.
Khao Takiab also means chopstick hill. I took this photo up the hill where both Chinese and Thai religious objects are located. This obviously is part of the Chinese display. Unfortunately I am not an expert to talk about what’s on the hill, I only like taking photos of what I see.
More photos coming up on my next posts.
Meaning literally “chopstick hill” Khao Takiab is dominated by a 272 m high headland that juts out into the sea. It is clearly visible at the southern end of Hua Hin beach. If you approach the hill this way, you are rewarded with the sight of a 20m tall Lord Buddha statue and there are other religious figures, both Thai and Chinese, at the summit, together with a statue of King Rama V. The hill is also known as “Monkey Mountain” due to large numbers of monkeys (macaques) that are resident there. Whilst not really fierce, care should be taken when they are around as they have a habit of grabbing and making off with anything that takes their fancy, especially handbags and cameras. It is probably better not to feed them as the larger males can sometimes become aggressive if the bananas have run out.

This afternoon I had lunch with a friend of mine at a nearby cafeteria. We did some catching up and I’ve learned that his girlfriend is about to embark into the world of baking (business.) She’s currently into the 3rd phase of her baking course (almost graduating, diploma is at hand’s reach) and actually could not wait to start her own (online) bakery. I’ve known her girlfriend for 2 years now and I was pleasantly surprised at the news, because I know how exciting it is to do something you really love and earn from it!
As we got into talking, my friend mentioned about her needs of good photos to place on her upcoming website. I said I can help her out with the photos. Also I asked him if he’s already found a reliable webhost, the answer was no. Thus I gave him this link for webhosting choices. Owning several websites the past 7 years I guess it makes me an expert in choosing one.
It’s pretty easy to buy domain name and start up a website these days. But many people do not realize that choosing the most reliable webhost is, if not the most critical part. Don’t fall victims to those who promise heaven-and-earth-kind-of-service but after you’ve paid your domain, they fall short of their promises. Question most people ask is: which webhost to trust?
Please do check the link above. And if you are in need of specific webhosting, do browse the website’s subpages. If like my friend’s girlfriend who is starting a business, I’d advise her to check out the best business hosting to find the webhost suit to her business’s needs.
Take the time in choosing webhost. Take it from me.

VACATION is OVER!
I’m finally back from my well deserved and really really needed vacation. I actually had two but the last one was with my husband. We were in our favorite vacation destination, Thailand, and we both agreed that this year’s vacation was the best we ever had! 90% of the time we just rested…safe to say that we had our pug’s life while on vacation. We slept, ate, slept and ate. We sure did enjoyed the warmth of the sun eventhough we experienced lots of gray skies and rains. As of this writing parts of Thailand is still under water due to overflowing of rivers. I can understand why people’s spirits are down.
We’re just glad that inspite of rains and floods, our vacation was not (negatively) influenced that much. We got rained on but we took it in stride because come on, warm rain is way better than cold cold rain back here in the Netherlands!
Anyway, I guess I’m back to (regular) blogging, I hope. I took my cameras with me on this trip and I made few photos that I really am excited to share. I had to get used to taking photos I must confess, since my heart wasn’t in photography for many months. I hope I somehow was able to get my ‘mojo’ back.
Well, c yah (all 2 readers of mine) around!

Visiting pet shops is what I like to do the most. Well, that’s next to visiting electronics shops
But when Charlie (our pug) and fishes’ supplies are almost low, I would always make a trip to the nearest pet shop. It’s a very small shop with few birds in cages, rabbits, mice, and an aquarium full of sweet water fishes. I like looking at the animals, could stay there just happily watching them, only leaving when the owner starts giving me a ‘look’.
Although I said that I like watching the animals, it doesn’t necessarily mean that I like watching the birds especially in cages. I think birds belong to the skies. They deserve their freedom. Years ago we adopted a canary of a friend’s mother when the latter passed away. I would have released the yellow bird to the wild if it had the chance to survive, but I knew there was a nul chance of that so we took care of it until it decided to ‘leave’ us. Funny and smart little birdy he was.
Anyhow, this was a blue belgian rabbit that I saw during a visit to another petshop. It was my first time to see such beautiful blue colored-fur rabbit! If it wasn’t expensive having animals at home, I really wouldn’t mind having one. Beautiful animal, isn’t he?! When I was a young child, I remember feeding my grandmother’s rabbits, I loved giving them carrots, cabbage, fruits…sweet furry huggable animals really. But I must admit rabbits are nothing like dogs which you can have a connection and interaction with. Perhaps it’s also good that we couldn’t afford to take another pet…I would have liked to play with it just like I do with Charlie.
I’m not an expert about rabbits but if you would like to read about them, perhaps this link is for you.

As you can see this is a photoblog. It means a blog that was made to show and share photos that have been taken by me. There are a lot of photoblogs out there right now. You only need to google a key word when looking for a certain image and you’ll immediately get many links showing your searched ones. Most of them are from photoblogs such as mine.
The only disadvantage of having a photoblog is that it ‘eats’ a lot of webspace because photos need more diskspace than simple words. And I am certainly coming to my maximum allowed by my website host. I just don’t know if I’ll buy more diskspace from them since I find it too expensive.
Ah, who among you are in the same predicament as I am?
Well then, let’s see where we can find more diskspace or perhaps move to a new one altogether? The latter does sound pretty attractive to me at this moment! But like I tell my friends each time they ask me to help them search for a good webhost, always visit a website that offers a list of webhost services such as this webhosting to have an idea whether it’s a good one or not. That you need to read users’ reviews about the services they get. I tell you, taking time to read them patiently is all worth it. In my experience I would suggest to try not to get sucked in by ‘too good to be true’ promises, like too much ‘unlimited’ of this and that. Sometimes you have to pay for good services. That’ll give you less headaches in the long run.
So, don’t forget to simply click this hosting rating link if I get your attention too.

My irregular blogposting has been brought about by sad events surrounding my family, both my own and in-law’s. Eleven months since my father’s death (last year) was followed by the death of an uncle, whom my siblings and I were close to, and also the passing of my father-in-law almost 3 months ago, who stood as my father for the past eleven years. Yes he stood as my father since I migrated from my own country (Philippines) to here (The Netherlands) when I married his son. So it has been a ‘dark’ year for me, my family and husband.
But we need to go on, I have to go on. Perhaps the pain gets less but we’ll never forget. Memories will linger for as long as our own time comes.
And then new lives sprung. We celebrated the birth of my cute little niece in June! Birthdays of nieces and nephews happened and so was mine 13 days ago.
I celebrated it the quiet way. On my birthday itself I chose to do nothing. No cooking. No visitors. No celebration. Just peace and quiet. I loved it!
The day after we had a small dinner with a couple of friends, dinner was prepared by me. Perhaps it’s rather childish but instead of having a post birthday cake, I made us adults some cake pops (see recipe here) I thought of sharing a photo because I was proud that I was able to make it since I don’t really bake a lot.
Well, I’m keeping it short. I guess I just wanted to let you know (all 2 readers of mine
) the reason why I was ‘quiet’.
People come and go, that’s a fact. But life has to go on for the living and left behind.
So it’s time to make some noise now, don’t you think so?

GIZMO.
Magandang araw ng Litratong Pinoy, mga kasama!
