Up Khao Takiab
Oct 26th
Although it was partially cloudy, it was still extremely hot for me back in October 1, 2011 when we visited Khao Takiab in Hua-Hin Thailand.
Khao Takiab also means chopstick hill. I took this photo up the hill where both Chinese and Thai religious objects are located. This obviously is part of the Chinese display. Unfortunately I am not an expert to talk about what’s on the hill, I only like taking photos of what I see.
More photos coming up on my next posts.
Meaning literally “chopstick hill” Khao Takiab is dominated by a 272 m high headland that juts out into the sea. It is clearly visible at the southern end of Hua Hin beach. If you approach the hill this way, you are rewarded with the sight of a 20m tall Lord Buddha statue and there are other religious figures, both Thai and Chinese, at the summit, together with a statue of King Rama V. The hill is also known as “Monkey Mountain” due to large numbers of monkeys (macaques) that are resident there. Whilst not really fierce, care should be taken when they are around as they have a habit of grabbing and making off with anything that takes their fancy, especially handbags and cameras. It is probably better not to feed them as the larger males can sometimes become aggressive if the bananas have run out.

It’s time to try again.
Sep 11th
It has been difficult for me to pick up my camera the past 2 months. Since my father died in July. The last photos I’ve taken were of his’ ….to document his final journey, until he was cremated. I had to do it because I promised a sibling who unfortunately couldn’t be there. I was heartbroken, nothing seemed to matter after.
But I would like to try again. To do things I used to love, and I know I still love. One of them is photography. My love for photography started out the first time my father let me used his film camera. It was his photos of a sinking ship that inspired me to take photos. Just as I see the world.
In honor of the man who made me, me.
Cheers Pa! Ik hou heel veel van jou en ik mis je erg.

At present this house of faith is riddled with scandals. Is it the beginning of its end? Are people losing trust and faith?

Hiblang pag-asa…nasaan na? (LP 97)
Mar 17th
More >
PUNO (LP 95: Kalikasan)
Mar 3rd
Rome Colosseum (part 2)
Mar 2nd

First photo was taken while I was seated just in front of the Colosseum. Coming straight from the aiport, we just dropped our luggages in the hotel and immediately walked here. I was so impressed I just wanted to sit there until it gets dark. Which we did due to my request to my husband that I also want to capture it in the evening. So while waiting…yes, I just sat there and look…and look….

and sometimes would stand up, walk around and capture parts that I didn’t want to forget..such as this 2nd shot (faulty camera setting, argh!) anyhow, can you see how they constructed the arches? geniaal!
This 3rd shot was taken while I was at the top of a double decker bus (on our second day on the way to the Vatican.) See the outer wall? Just a small piece of it was left. It’s a shame that a big part of it was broken down and that the said parts were stolen to build houses and buildings around Rome. It also seems riddled with holes, that’s because the lead metals which were connecting the arches (also supporting the building) were stolen..leaving ‘holey’ memories.
here’s a short video I made with my camera..
Kenny was here (55 & 56)
Feb 26th
I didn’t had time yesterday to publish my photo for my project photo-a-day 365 that’s why today I have two. Numbers 55 and 56.
As I’ve said, this month will be filled with flower uploads. Both photos were taken back in 2008 when my family visited Keukenhof , the famous Dutch gardens of floral display showcased each year, early spring.
It is still close now because it’s still early and well, because of the long winter which we hope to leave us soon. Then the fun at Keukenhof can once again begin!

The second photo isn’t a flower though but my own Charlie, marking everything he found worthy of his scent . Dogs are allowed in the area as long as owners clean up after them when they decide to do number 2.
